About me
I'm a linguist and self-proclaimed data analyst and researcher based in Montréal. I hold a BA in linguistics from McGill University in Montréal which I obtained in 2020. I currently work full-time at an accessibility tech company preparing, training, and testing ASR (automatic speech recognition) models.
I have a strong interest in natural language processing and demographic research, especially in what exists at their intersection. I am also enthusiastic about data analysis and data science in a broad sense, machine learning, project management, and relational database systems. I am currently actively seeking full-time opportunities which relate to one or more of these areas of concentration.
I am proficient in Python, R, SQL (more on the Postgres side of things), and LaTeX, and mostly decent in HTML and CSS. I have extensive familiarity with Google Workspace, the Microsoft Office/365 suite, and the Jupyter suite. Prior to becoming involved in my current line of work, I spent some time as a supervisor at Starbucks, managing a large team in the busiest store in Québec (at the time - they've since been usurped), where I honed my skills in task delegation, time and resource management, conflict resolution, and navigating high-pressure situations with a customer-centric focus.
I have a solid and well-rounded foundation in the field of linguistics and in statistics from my undergraduate studies and I actively engage with and maintain this knowledge. I speak English as my native language, French (C1, maybe occasionally C2), Polish (arguable B1), along with bits and pieces of many other languages as well.
I completed the foundational Google data analytics certificate in 2022 and the advanced one in 2024, and the Google project management certificate in 2023. I'm well-acquainted with project management methodology, including Agile and Scrum, and have some experience with various major project management tools (primarily Monday and Jira).
Outside of the digital world, I love electronic music, DJing, and the culture surrounding them, language acquisition, fashion and textile work, art and art history, and cycling.
